Cass’ New Coaster Sets Connect Detroit’s Past and Present

Children by wall    DSCN2513

Cass Green Industries’ new coaster sets feature images of graffiti from Detroit’s “wailing wall.” This half mile concrete wall was constructed in August 1941 to segregate a Detroit community in order for a white housing development to receive funding. On the left is a photo from the 1940s of children gathered near this wall. On the right are two Green Industries’ employees who work together to create coasters. Cass Community Social Services hopes that these coasters will not only look great in your home, but also spark discussions about overcoming segregation. Currently, the best way to purchase a set of coasters is by calling our main office at (313) 883-2277.
